Refuel J9 sits comfortably in the heart of Junction Nine mall, serving up café-style fare with a casual, friendly vibe that fits well into the Yishun neighborhood. This spot appeals to locals looking for an all-day brunch option that goes beyond the usual toast and coffee, blending hearty meals with specialty coffee drinks in a relaxed setting.

The café feels inviting without being pretentious, making it a natural pitstop after morning activities—like pilates classes nearby—or for a laid-back weekend brunch. The space tends to fill up on weekends, reflecting its local popularity, so coming earlier in the day or during off-peak hours will help avoid wait times.

On the menu, a few standout choices lean toward brunch classics with a twist. The grilled salmon with vegetables and a perfectly cooked poached egg is a favorite among regulars, as is the pulled pork served with crisp waffles and a drizzle of maple syrup that balances savoury and sweet. The café also experiments with truffle-infused bites like truffle fries and truffle mushroom pasta, catering to those who prefer richer, more indulgent flavors. Portion sizes are generous without being overwhelming, which complements the easygoing atmosphere.

Coffee is clearly a focus here, with options ranging from familiar lattes and hot brews to more adventurous specialty iced drinks like the Coffee Mont Blanc or the Iced Earl Grey Brulee. The “dirty coffee” series—which blends espresso with sweet elements like Nutella or Biscoff—offers a playful twist, though sweetness levels can feel a bit strong depending on your palate. For those who value coffee quality alongside food, this place delivers well enough to make it a regular stop.

The setting at Refuel J9 is informal and bright, typical of a suburban mall café, with enough room to catch up with friends or settle in for a casual solo meal. It's not a quiet retreat but rather a convenient neighborhood hub where the ambience is shaped by a steady flow of brunch-goers and families, especially on weekends. Service is straightforward and friendly, helping keep the experience comfortable even when things get busy.

Overall, Refuel J9 works best for those who want an approachable, no-fuss brunch spot with a solid coffee lineup in the northern part of Singapore. It’s where local routines meet easy indulgences, making it a practical go-to for lazy weekend mornings or a post-workout refuel.

Nice place to refuel after our morning pilate class @ Yishun Active Sg. Love the grilled salmon meal with nicely done vegetables and potatoes, and most importantly it came with my favourite poached egg ;p. My wife had the pulled pork with nice and crisp waffle, and maple syrup which gave it a good blend of savoury and sweet. The coffees were great too. We love the ambience and setting too. Will be back to refuel with mac and cheese and toasties. Cheers!

Happy to find an all-day brunch in Yishun! And they got the specialty coffee in their menu. Tried their Coffee Mont Blanc, it is quite nice… Can’t comment much since my usual go-to is Americano or Latte. Overall, brunch is great…

On Sunday, we googled for a cafe in Yishun after pilates and found Refuel. 2nd in queue to put down our name and we went to walk around the mall. Very soon we got the seat. Initially we thought we will find typical cafe food - xxx on a toast. My hub found his perfect meal - grilled salmon on a bed of grilled zucchini and poached egg. We also ordered a charred bro-cauli, a pulled pork waffles, of course my first coffee of the day ... and over-ordered with a apple crumble that came w 2 scoops of vanilla i/c. So satifying. We were also served by a very cheerful young lady with a pony tail. (A little suggestion: I had wanted my toasties - 4 cheese toasties pls! Can you also do a rosti meal)

Brunch place at Yishun. Crowded on the Saturday. Their food is cafe standard, nothing mind blowing. My friend previously tried their mocha and said it was good but this time we tried, it was subpar. Maybe because it was crowded.

Good all-day breakfast spot in the North; loved the fried lotus root and pickled onions on top of the croffle. Sausage served on the full tank platter was so-so. (has a bit of that artificial taste) Biscoff latte was very palatable. However, we found the caramel macchiato to be too sweet to our liking. Portion sizes were decent. No svc charge too! Would definitely come back (:

The food was amazing with generous portions—definitely great value for the price. However, the waiting time for the food was quite long, and during our visit, the staff kept asking us to move tables, which made it hard to fully enjoy the dining experience. Hopefully, service flow and seating arrangements can be improved, because the food itself is worth coming back for.

Entered without expectations and turned out to be a pretty good lunch! Especially enjoyed the chicken sesame salad! Will attempt this combo at home. The strawberries were a nice touch. Sucha tasty combi! I was afraid initially there won’t be sufficient protein so added avocado. But you get an almost palm-sized worth of chicken + 1/2 hard boiled egg in the salad. Mushroom soup + toast were decent too. Cafe ambience was nice too. A nice quiet afternoon weekday lunch. Will return to try other items on the menu! Eyeing the matcha offerings on the menu. Wish they have some value-for-money set lunches like their neighbour though
